Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, who else touches it, and how to tell us to stop. Plain language, no dark patterns.

Last updated: October 4, 2026

This document is written to be understood, not to hide anything in the fine print. It is general information about how TireDrop operates — it is not legal advice, and it does not replace the terms shown at checkout, your order confirmation, or any written agreement or invoice we give you. Where those are more specific, they govern. If something here is unclear or does not seem to match your situation, call (954) 773-1896 or use our contact form and ask. We would rather talk it through.

1. What we collect

We collect what we need to sell you tires, get them to you, fit them if you want that, and follow up afterward. In practice that means:

  • Contact details you give us: name, phone number and email address
  • Addresses: the shipping address the order goes to — or the shop, if you chose ship-to-store — and, for a mobile install, the address where the van should come
  • Vehicle information: year, make, model, tire and wheel sizes, and notes about any work performed
  • Order history: what you bought, what it cost, what we quoted and what we did
  • What you type into the site's forms: the contact form, the financing form, the fleet quote form, the install booking form, and an order request sent from checkout
  • Messages you send to info@tiredroponline.com or leave on the phone
  • Your email address, if you sign up for TireDrop emails using the sign-up form in the site footer. It asks for nothing else.
  • Your approximate location, on the local delivery page only. When that page opens, our website host estimates your ZIP code and rough location from your internet connection, and the page uses it once to check whether you are in a local delivery zone and to show you the city it places you in. If you allow it, your browser can also share your device location for a more exact check, which is compared with the delivery zones in your browser. If you allow your device location, the page also sends your approximate coordinates, rounded to about 100 meters, once to BigDataCloud, a mapping service, to look up the name of your neighborhood or city. That name is shown only to you, and we do not store it. We use your location only to check your delivery zone and name where you are, and we do not store it.
  • What you type into the Ask TireDrop chat, only if you use it. Each message, with the earlier messages of that conversation and the page you are on, is sent to our server and to Anthropic's API so an answer can be written; we do not store the conversation. Please do not type card numbers or other private details into it.
  • A photo or a VIN, only if you use the optional Tire Size Finder. A photo of your door sticker, tire or VIN is sent to our server and to Anthropic's API to read the tire size or VIN off it; we do not store the photo. A VIN, typed or read from a photo, is looked up in NHTSA's public vehicle database to find the year, make and model; we do not store it unless you include it with an order.

We do not store card numbers. Card payments are taken on Shopify's checkout page: Shopify receives the card details directly and handles them under its own security obligations, and we see only that a payment went through.

We do not ask for information we have no use for. You do not need an account to browse the site, and signing up for emails is optional — leaving the sign-up form in the site footer empty changes nothing else about the site.

2. How we use it

To answer your question, price an order, place it with the distributor, get it shipped to the right address, take payment, book an install, and handle any return, claim or warranty question afterward. We also look at aggregate website statistics — which pages get visited, roughly where visitors come from, what device they use — to understand what is working and fix what is not.

If you sign up using the sign-up form in the site footer, we use that address to send you TireDrop emails: the tire tips, fitment help and news about new sizes and brands the form describes. We do not use it for anything else. Sending a form or an order request does not sign you up for these emails; only the sign-up form in the site footer does.

If you ask us to, we may send occasional service reminders — a rotation coming due, for example. You can tell us to stop at any time and we will.

That is the whole list. We do not profile you, score you, or build an audience out of you.

3. Cookies, tracking and browser storage

This website uses Google Analytics to measure how the site is used — pages viewed, how visitors arrived, general location at the city or region level, device and browser type, and steps in the shop such as a tire viewed, added to the cart or searched for by size or vehicle, a delivery option chosen, a tool used, or the fact that a form was sent (its name, never what you typed into it). Google Analytics sets its own first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to tell one visit from the next. We have switched off Google signals and ad personalization, so this measurement is not used to build advertising profiles or to show you ads. We see the results only as aggregate reports, not as a record of what any named person did.

The site loads no advertising or social tracking pixels. You are welcome to check both statements in your browser's developer tools.

Separately, the site uses local storage in your own browser for three things:

  • Your cart — so the tires you picked are still there if you close the tab and come back
  • The comparison tray — which products you lined up side by side
  • The vehicle or tire size you choose to shop for — so Shop Tires takes you straight to tires for it next time. It is never sent to us except to look up tires for it and with an order or a form you send, and clearing your site data removes it

The Ask TireDrop chat keeps your current conversation in your browser's session storage until you close the tab, so it is still there when you move to another page. It is sent only as part of your next chat message, and "Start over" clears it.

All three stay on your device. The cart and comparison tray are not sent to us; none of the three contains a name, email address, street address or payment detail, and nobody else can read them. Clearing your browsing data deletes them, and you lose your cart.

The email sign-up form in the site footer saves nothing in your browser. An earlier version of the site had a sign-up pop-up that remembered whether you had closed it, under the name td-nl-popup. The pop-up is gone, and the site now deletes that entry if your browser still has it.

Translating a page is optional. Nothing from Google Translate loads until you open the Language button at the top of the page. Once you do, the site loads Google Translate (or, if that is unavailable, opens the page through translate.google.com), and Google processes the page's text to translate it and may set its own cookies, such as googtrans, which remembers the language you picked. The site keeps your pick in your browser's session storage until you close the tab, and "English (original)" switches translation off.

You can block or delete the Google Analytics cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout; the site works the same either way. If we add any other third-party script, this section gets rewritten before that ships, not after.

4. Who else sees your information

A short list, and only where there is a reason:

  • Shopify, the platform the shop's orders and online payments run through, which receives your order, contact details and address so the shop can process it, and processes card payments on its checkout page — it receives the card details, not us
  • Shopify also stores what you send us through the site. An email sign-up from the sign-up form in the site footer is saved as a customer record in the shop's Shopify account, marked as agreeing to marketing email. A form message or an order request is saved on your customer record there — found by your email or phone number, or created with your name, email and phone — and Shopify emails a copy to our own inbox so someone can reply. An order request is also saved as a draft order, which is not charged until we confirm it with you
  • ATD (American Tire Distributors), our distributor, which receives the shipping address and order details because it packs and dispatches your tires
  • Shipping carriers, for delivery and tracking
  • Financing providers, if you choose to apply; your application goes to them under their own privacy policy, not ours
  • Manufacturers, when a warranty claim requires it
  • The company that hosts this website, which estimates a visitor's rough location from their internet connection for the local delivery page (see section 1), and keeps ordinary server logs of requests made to it — and, if an order request cannot be saved in Shopify, a copy of that request in the same logs, so it is not lost
  • BigDataCloud, a mapping service that looks up the name of your neighborhood or city on the local delivery page, only if you allow your device location. The page sends it your approximate coordinates, rounded to about 100 meters, once, and nothing else from us: no name, ZIP code or contact details. Like any website you contact, it also sees your device's IP address. The name it returns is shown only to you, and we do not keep it
  • Google, which provides Google Analytics and receives information about how the site is used (see section 3), processed under Google's own privacy policy
  • Anthropic, whose API also writes the answers in the Ask TireDrop chat. It receives the messages of the conversation you are having and the page you are on, with no name or contact details unless you type them, and we do not keep a copy
  • Anthropic, whose API reads a photo you choose to scan in the Tire Size Finder to find the tire size or VIN printed on it. Only the photo is sent, once, with no name or contact details, and we do not keep a copy
  • NHTSA, the US Department of Transportation agency whose public vehicle database decodes a VIN you enter or scan in the Tire Size Finder. Only the VIN is sent
  • Law enforcement or regulators, where we are legally required to respond

That is the complete list. No advertising network and no data broker. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising — Google Analytics is set up with Google signals and ad personalization switched off, so the site's measurement data is not used for advertising.

5. How long we keep it

Order, service and transaction records are kept as long as we need them for warranty, accounting and tax purposes. Messages and requests sent through the site's forms stay on your customer record in Shopify until we delete them — when they are no longer needed, or when you ask. When information is no longer needed for a legitimate business or legal reason, we dispose of it.

An email sign-up stays on the list until you unsubscribe. Unsubscribing stops the emails; the customer record stays in Shopify, marked as unsubscribed, until you ask us to delete it.

6. Your Privacy Choices

You have real choices here, and exercising them will not change how we treat you as a customer. Depending on the state you live in, some of these may also be rights you can enforce — we apply them to everyone rather than sorting customers by ZIP code.

  • Ask what we hold. Call us and we will tell you what customer records are associated with your name, phone number, order number or vehicle.
  • Ask us to correct it. If a phone number, address or vehicle detail is wrong, we will fix it.
  • Ask us to delete it. Call and request deletion. We will remove what we are not required to keep for warranty, accounting or legal reasons — including an email sign-up and any form messages on your Shopify customer record — and we will tell you plainly what we had to retain and why.
  • Unsubscribe from TireDrop emails. Use the unsubscribe link in any of those emails, or email info@tiredroponline.com and ask, and we will unsubscribe you.
  • Opt out of reminders. Say the word on the phone, or reply to any message asking to stop, and we will take you off the reminder list.
  • Clear what the site stored on your device. Your cart, comparison tray and the vehicle or tire size you shop for live in your own browser; the sign-up form in the site footer stores nothing there. Clearing your browsing data removes them. It does not remove anything you sent us — for that, ask us to delete it.
  • Opt out of analytics. Block or clear the Google Analytics cookies in your browser, or use Google's opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To use any of these, call (954) 773-1896 during business hours, email info@tiredroponline.com, or send a message through our contact form. We may need to confirm a couple of details — an order number, say — to be sure we are talking to the right person before we change or delete a record.

7. Security

We take sensible steps to protect customer information, and we limit access to the people who need it to do the job. Card details are never stored by us — they are handled by our payment processor. No website or business can promise perfect security, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. If something goes wrong in a way that affects you, we will tell you.

8. Children

This site is meant for adults buying tires and arranging vehicle service. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, call us and we will remove it.

9. Changes to this policy

If our practices change, we will update this page and change the revision date at the top. Questions about anything here are welcome — call and ask.
